Beginning with classical music, opera and operetta, I studied with Frank Ryken, Edward Sayegh and Ava Victoria in San Francisco. However, my loves have always been swing and musical theater. So after The Magic Flute, The Medium, Himmelrand, The Merry Widow, endless scenes, opera programs and oratorios, I decided to focus on where my heart lay.
After joining the cast of Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera in Basel I went on to create my big band CD, Just Marilyn, and became affiliated with New Arts Paradigm, a company helping with new shows and productions.
Some of my musical theater and stage roles for national, touring and regional companies include: Evita (Evita), Eliza (My Fair Lady), Hunyak the Hungarian (Chicago), Annie (Annie Get Your Gun), Debra Sue (Bye Bye Birdie), Luisa (The Fantasticks), Beauty (Beauty and the Beast), Grace Farrell (Annie), Rosalie (West Side Story), Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors), Adelaide (Guys and Dolls), and Ann (A Little Night Music) Joanne/Sonia (Godspell), Fantine/Grizabella (Rainbow), Mary(Mary Poppins), Maria (The Sound of Music), Lilli (Carnival), Nancy (Oliver), Sandy/Rizzo (Grease), Nickie (Sweet Charity) Polly (Between Mouthfuls), and Muriel (Can’t Hear You When the Water’s Running).
